Sunday Services
Every Sunday, we conduct a Buddhist ritual at 12:00 PM (Noon) in-person and online via Zoom.
The service lasts approximately one hour. At the end of the service, the Head Priest delivers a Dharma talk.
Everyone interested in Buddhist thought, including beginners, are welcome.
On the first Sunday of each month, we hold the Getsurei Shiatoru Kouyasan Sennbousya Tsuitou 月例シアトル高野山先亡者追悼, a memorial service for the past contributors to Seattle Koyasan Buddhist Temple.
On the last Sunday of each month, we practice a Goma Fire Ceremony. In this ceremony, Fudo MyouOh, the Buddha of Compassionate Fire, burns away the root of our suffering as we pray. The fire symbolizes the wisdom of the Buddha and the wood sticks fed to the fire symbolize our human desires and pain.
